Meet Your Teacher
Meet Your Teachers in Second Grade!
My name is Mrs. Buscemi and I have taught here at St. Mary School for thirteen years in Second Grade. I have a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education. I have also earned a Master’s degree in Teaching and Leadership. I have enjoyed teaching the children Reconciliation and First Communion. It is a joy to watch them learn and get excited about school!
My name is Mrs. Turek and this is my fifth year teaching Second Grade at St. Mary. I’ve taught music and second grade at St. Barbara School and I was a 5th and 6th grade teacher in Cicero. I have a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education and a Master’s degree in Reading. I am a certified reading specialist.
In a Catholic school setting, second grade is a special place to be! The children take their preparation for First Reconciliation and for First Holy Eucharist very seriously. I am always pleased with the reverence they show as they attend Mass and as they begin to better understand why we, as Catholics, do what we do.
