Brownie Troop 51446 3rd grade 2014-2015
Leaders Maggie Federow and Andrea Markham
meet 1st and/or 3rd Tuesdays, 4:30 pm-6:00 pm
Our troop had a great year as Brownies. The girls really loved their new including their beanies.
The girls took the level of Brownie very seriously and picked a troop crest to represent themselves.
We went on many outings this year, Letterboxing, two plays and roller skating. We also volunteered at the Greater Chicago Food Depository. The highlight for many girls was our first annual Powderpuff Derby. Each girl also managed their cookie sales and worked toward their personal goals.
This troop loves to earn badges. The girls received many badges but most notable was the Girl Scout Way Badge. This badge has 5 components:
- Sing everywhere
- Celebrate Juliette Gordon Lowe’s Birthday
- Share sisterhood
- Leave a place better than you found it and
- Celebrate a Girl scout tradition
Also, in conjuction with First Communion each Brownie spent a significant amount of time earning their first religious medal FAMILY OF GOD. Thanks to Mrs, Scharpf for leading the girls. We ended our great year camping in Michigan.
The girls try each day to live by the girl scout law, and we are very proud of them!
