Dear Parishioners and Friends,
Building for the Future. For over 140 years, the people of St. Mary Parish have been building the Kingdom and living out God’s call with our children, families and friends in the surrounding Riverside community. So, it seems fitting that the Building for the Future Campaign is the next step in our journey together. This initiative reflects our parishioners’ legacy of caring for St. Mary today and for generations to come.
I am excited about the Campaign and believe that the priorities will indeed provide our staff, our education center and yes, our current and future priests, with improved and expanded capacity to serve, to learn and to connect. With these projects, our Parish facilities will continue to provide space necessary to enhance existing ministries and begin new ones.
True to our mission and legacy, this Campaign will also support our outreach efforts to help those less fortunate and help build the Kingdom beyond our walls. I am very proud that a significant portion of the Building for the Future Campaign will enable us to help others as part of our commitment to the “To Teach Who Christ Is” Campaign of the Archdiocese of Chicago. Through our special arrangement, we will help St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church – South Shore with a much needed replacement of their Church roof and our contribution will also support the Catholic Scholarship Fund to carry out our mission of teaching Catholicism throughout the Chicago area.
My hope is that you will take the time to review this Campaign packet and to prayerfully consider your personal financial investment in this important initiative. Equally as important to the success of the Campaign is your willingness to support this community-wide effort with your time and talent, and there will be several opportunities for you to share these gifts in the days ahead.
With your help, your participation and your prayers, I know that we will fulfill the needs of our Parish today as we continue building a stronger faith community for our future.
Rev. Thomas P. May
