Fatherhood calls for many challenges and hardships, which every dad bears with pride and happiness. Your dad has been your first friend who has always been with you, no matter what. He is the one person who has bestowed you with unconditional love and care, without asking for anything in return. When it comes to the relationship you share with your father, there are absolutely no strings attached. He may not show it, but he is always there for you, with his unwavering support and assistance. How often do you take out time to whisper a silent prayer to God for the health and happiness of this special person in your life? This Father’s Day, take it as an opportunity to seek blessings for your father, with a special prayer of gratitude.
Prayer for Dad
Loving God, bless all the fathers in the world.
Guide them to be good role models
and loving to their children.
Help them to be a father like You are.
Give them Your grace and patience
to handle situations in a loving way. Amen
Happy Father’s Day!
Thank you to all who have contributed to the “Balance the Budget” campaign as we close out the fiscal year. We are trying to bring down the $75,000-$85,000 deficit for this fiscal year. As of June 11th, we have collected $20,640 with 71 households participating.
The most touching situation that I have encountered in a long time occurred the week after my balance the budget talk at all the masses. One of our 4th Graders asked to see me with his parents in regards to the homily he heard at mass that weekend regarding the budget shortfall. He was upset that we were short on our budget and wanted to do something about it. He asked his parents if he could take a portion of his savings to help out. He handed me an envelope which I then opened and $1,000 came out of it. Speechless I looked to the parents for assurance that they knew what he had given. First of all I was impressed that a 4th grader took to heart the budget message given at the mass and secondly at his most generous response.
Not everyone can give $1,000 to our Balance the Budget Campaign but we can all give something. Please let the generosity of a 12 year old touch your heart! It did mine.
