With all the memories of Christmas still fresh in our hearts, we have many people that need to be thanked for all their efforts to make it truly a very special celebration from beginning to end.
Thank you to Fr. Kris and Fr. Banzin, Deacon Bob Boharic and Deacon Randy Belice for their thoughtful homilies and for prayerfully leading us in the Eucharist.
Thank you to all of our Lectors, Eucharistic Ministers, Ushers, and Servers who fulfilled their roles so faithfully.
Thank you to Michael Silhavy, our Director of Music, Mary Prete for playing the organ and piano and directing our Children’s Choir, our Cantors, Musicians and the Adult Choir for their beautiful Christmas music. We didn’t miss one Christmas carol or hymn. The music was splendid!
Thank you to Barb Slipek and her committee…Tiffany and Ava Storandt, Janie Cundiff, Margie MacNeill, JoAnne Benson, Gelse Tkalec, Katherine Moran, Brandon Beltran, Alyssa Brown, and Charlie and Brian Marino for decorating the Church and the Parish Center so beautifully. Sallie Boge for decorating all the outdoor pots. Susan Wawzenski, and Sharmayne Stach for being such attentive sacristans. The environment truly assisted us in our prayers by helping to place us in the right frame of mind.
Thank you to our Maintenance Staff: Manny Tinoco and David Hodge for also assisting in the set up and keeping it all clean.
Thank you to all who sent cards and “Goodies” to the rectory. Your goodness and generosity is truly a reflection of God’s love and goodness. Thank you to all who supported the parish through your annual Christmas donation.
We are truly dependent on your generosity and we were not disappointed. If you were unable to make your gift to the parish, it’s not too late. I never fail to be inspired by your goodness and most generous spirit.
Thank you to Ivins/Moravecek Funeral Home for providing our Parish Calendars for 2018. We are most grateful.
Finally, thank you God for truly blessing us as a Parish Community with so many reflections of your great love for us.
P.S. Have you ever wanted to attend the Passion Play in Oberammergau. I will be traveling to Germany, Budapest and Prague in 2020 to attend this spiritual event held every 10 years with Fr. Carl Morello. Since there is a great demand for tickets we need to have our reservations well in advance. We will host an information evening at St. Giles Rectory, 1025 Columbian Ave., Oak Park, on Wednesday, January 16th at 7:30 p.m. Brochures are available at our Rectory. We look forward to traveling with you!
