The Summer is the fastest three months of the year for me. It is hard to believe that the Fourth of July is already a month ago. You will find in this edition of The Bell pictures from the Parade, now a happy memory. A word of thanks to all who marched in the St. Mary Contingent and to Jane Birmingham who coordinated our group and had our new banner made so that we could be easily identified. Also thanks to the Knights of Columbus who participated and had a very special guest in their car … Flat Pope Francis!
Summer is a time for us to kick back and relax, to recharge our bodies and souls for the coming year. I hope that you are getting the opportunity to do just that. Time is running out. St. Mary School begins classes on August 21st. This weekend at the 5:00 p.m. Sunday Mass, we are blessing college students as they prepare to leave for their new academic year. Next week we will bless all our high school students at the 5:00 p.m. Sunday Mass. The following week it will be the grade-schoolers turn at the Sunday 5:00 p.m. Mass. It is really an exciting time of year as we see the many possibilities of the new school year before us. May God bless us as we begin this Academic Year of 2017-2018!
